Another well attended day is the Raft Race at Matlock Bath on Boxing Day. It’s great fun to watch the rafts sailing down stream and being showered with eggs and flour, with water cannon fighting back from the rafts. It starts about 10am in Matlock Bath, it certainly blows the cobwebs out of your head after the excess of Christmas day. A very good day, nice to have a drink afterwards in a local hostelry.
